Welcome to the OptaJoke Betting Blog, i’ll be guiding you through some of the longer shots for this weekend and getting to grips with where the value is. There’s a League One treble for those feeling adventurous this weekend, it consists of:
Oldham v Peterborough (away win) – Peterborough continue to be possibly the most mental team in the football league but I think they may have too much for an Oldham side that are without a win in 6 games. The home side have only scored since 1 goal in their last 5 and that always spells trouble against a side like Posh who have been scoring for fun.
Dagenham and Redbridge v Bournemouth (away win) – An (almost) top plays bottom clash this one, Bournemouth continue to produce positive results and have won their last couple of games away as they push for automatic promotion. They face a side who are 4 places and 4 points from safety at the foot of the table, they are yet to beat a team that currently sits inside the play-off places and have only managed 1 draw from these 6 games. Bournemouth won comprehensively 3-0 at home and I fancy them to repeat that here.
MK Dons v Brighton (away win) – The seagulls recovered from their FA Cup exit with a 4-0 demolition of Plymouth and will be looking to inflict a similar fate upon MK Dons this weekend. The hosts have struggled at home in the last few weeks and will be worried if their form doesn’t improve they may slip out of the play-off picture. Brighton won the previous meeting between these two back in September and with Bournemouth breathing down their necks they will want to head back down south with all three points in the bag.
This treble returns around 14/1
I also fancy a little single from The Bundesliga this week in what I believe is going to be the game of the weekend across Europe. Bayern Munich, fresh from a victory over Inter Milan in their Champions League tie host runaway leaders Borrusia Dortmund on Saturday evening. Bayern have been recovering from a poor start to the domestic campaign and are up to third in the league but are still 13 points behind their opponents. Dortmund have won 10 of their 12 league games away from home scoring 28 goals in the process. They are walking away with the Bundesliga title and I fancy them to get a result here with Bayern having to recover from a midweek game and potentially with one eye on the next leg. The selection I’m backing here is:
Paddy Power Live Treble
Dortmund win with over 12 corners and a card index of 40pts or more. 25/1
Card Index is as follows:
Yellow card: 10pts
Red Card: 25pts
This is one market with Paddy Power, it can be found under “Match Specials” and with Dortmund in such a stunning run of form and both sides scoring for fun in what could be a feisty top of the table clash the 25/1 on offer seems a decent punt. This one is also live on ESPN at 17:30 if you fancy watching it!
As is customary i’ll also recommend a Goals Galore bet for the week. Remember, both teams must score in all the games for this to be a winner. This week’s selections are as follows:
Everton v Sunderland
Wolves v Blackpool
Barnsley v Norwich
Preston v Burnley
Barnet v Lincoln
This one returns 17/1 with Betfred
Good luck and gamble responsibly!
